Very nice, I really like the final contrast between all of the elements in the scene. I think I would have gone a little easier on the skin tones but very nice work!

Yeah I thought I went a little overboard with the skin tone too but when she saw it she got excited and told me she loved it so I decided to leave it that way.

I really like what you did with this shot! Beautiful! I see what you mean with the skin tone, BUT I think it totally works for this shot. Great job!

What did you do to lighten the skin? Local area dodging? General curves?

No I made a copy of the layer, gaussian blurred it, switched to overlay, then added a layer mask filling in the skin only. Then I duplicated the masked layer twice and switched to screen and soft light. Took some playing with opacity to get it the way I wanted it. I just wanted it to look cold.
