I've been playing around with textures recently & am pretty happy with the way this one turned out so I thought I'd share.
Original photograph ![]() Edited photograph ![]() My aim was to age the photograph, but in an interesting way that would add interest rather than just make it look old. Camera settings: Canon EOS 400D Digital Exposure: 0.025 sec (1/40) Aperture: f/4.0 Focal Length: 50 mm ISO Speed: 400 Editing This was done in PSE5 and was relatively simple. - clean up image (sharpen etc) - duplicate layer & convert second layer to b&w - add a sepia filter to the b&w layer, lighten a little & increase contrast - reduce the opacity of the b&w/sepia layer to retain a small hint of colour. - drag a texture onto the image (the one I used was from Pareeerica on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8078381@N03/4202894268/ ) & change the layer setting to colour burn. That's it. S
