Default Good shot made a great crop!

Well, at least I think so. I am brand new to PP, and am slowly wading my way through the thousands of photoshop tutorials on the web. Is this considered an effective crop/retouch? Thank you in advance!
1. Cropped
2. Healing brush to remove blemishes
3. Dodge and burn on eyes
4. Median blur to smooth skin

personally, I like the original much better. The cropped version loses the story for me. In the original picture, you get a since of emotion. Maybe she's waiting on someone who never showed up. I also really like the brick wall with the vines on it. I think once you cropped it you lost all of that. Keep it the way it was IMO.

JKJD is right in that you get more of a story with the uncropped version. She looks somewhat pensive and contemplative.
However, if you want the photo to center on the girl, the crop is nicely done. Nice work on the PP.

I think both are great. But I like the original more, maybe just a little less head room though.

They do different things - I like the 1st one as it creates more of a story.

Hey, I am not saying this to make ya feel good. however I enjoy looking at the second picture a lot more then the first

I feel she is too far in the first and looking at the cropped she is in plain view

love it

plus she is pretty

I like the wall in the back...I would crop the head but leave the textured wall visible in the back...losing the right arm changes the photo completely, but I like your crop...Just a different feel/emotion conveyed.

I think I like the crop the best - in my opinion there is too much background in the original. However, I think you might have cropped a little too tightly. I would like to see slightly more of her.
