Default Picnik'd

This was my favorite picture taken for the "Assignments: Streets" thread. I didn't use it as the submission though since several others pointed to another favorite as more pleasant to look at.
However, after my husband saw this one edited he said he would have picked it! But I'd decided only to enter unedited photographs to help encourage better photography from the time the shutter closes.

This is a picture of the reflection of the street in a cross walk button, unedited:

Here, the edited version:
Cross Walk Button 2

This was incredibly simple to do! I don't have photoshop or lightroom yet (hopefully one of those is just around the corner for me ) so I rely heavily on Picnik for all of my editing right now. If you don't have an editing program I highly recommend that you try picnik. It's not all inclusive.....there's still plenty that can't be done, but LOTS that can be. Anyway, aside from adding my
name/date (using the "text" tool) to the pic and a
frame (with the "frames" tool) the ONLY things I did were to use the
"eyebright" feature and the
"mascara" feature (both under the "touch-up" tool). Both over the whole picture.
*all of the tools mentioned are under the "create" tab.

Also, for those of you who haven't used flickr, yet, they use picnik so you can edit your pics!
Check them out and see what you think! There's plenty I'm anxious to be able to do that Picnik doesn't do but in the meantime they'll work for me.

I used to use picnik quite a bit before I got PSE8 for Christmas. Actually I still do use it a bit for frames and watermarks.
Just a tidbit in case you didnt know:
If you use picnik inside the flickr website you are limited and a lot of the functions a "premium member" only option.

However, go to the Picnik website, edit your pictures there (you have so many more options that are free) and then upload to flickr

BTW: Nice pic! The edited version is much more pleasant. More vivid.
