I have been trying to work on framing my shots better. What do you think of this one. Other critiques welcomed, too!

Junior1919,

Framing elements sometimes work well to put a subject in a place of importance. You have that sort of thing here, but then it would appear your subject is . . . blue. The bottom is too small as framing or subject, tree branches are sparse, not framing very strongly and not subject material.

This is a very good photo. It can serve you later as a comparison to one with heavier, more definite framing, a good strong subject, and a composition with elements more compatible in size.

Makes sense. I often take straight-on shots and this was me trying to experiment a bit. Thanks for the encouragement. Now to find a subject...

Junior1919,

Have you looked through the Composition threads in Techniques?
