Default Woman and Violin

I gave this a serious mono-tint instead of color because the woman is preparing to do about an hour of two of scale practice and would rather be playing hot gypysy jazz melodies. Had some natural light coming indoors. Tried not to do much in post processing but crop it and adjust here and there. Thanks for your comments.

geotography,

You did very well in getting a pair of eyes, which could be so much more a part of this photo. As a portrait, a crop like this would keep your original elements, while removing things that have nothing to add.

This is done on Flickr's picnik, so little upper left corner is left uncloned. You have a fine subject here.

In both of these crops the right side (her left) is starting to get a little lost because of the picture in the background.
Always take your time in examining both your subject and your background.
There's something about the sepia tone that is bothering me. I'm not sure what you use to change the color, but in Photoshop terms, you've lost your luminosity. In other words, your whites have taken on the color cast. Generally, you get more depth when these whites stay white.
Otherwise great portrait. Here eyes are really transfixing and make a graet focal point.

Jiminy C,

Your crop is masterful. Thanks for showing me!!!! I like the photo much much more now. I have also been offered other advice that I will study as well.
