I like the photos, but like a lot of other posters, you must not have read the sticky about posting only ONE photograph at a time.

I'll say it, there's a common thing in both photos that I find myself distracted by. It's the rubber band holding the crayons together. In the first one it barely shows up, and in the second one it is very prominent. Without that, I prefer the first picture since it focuses more on the wax part of the crayons and the second just seems to show too much. And yep, as suggested, read the sticky on one image per post

There seems to be the opposite of a compromise. The dirty bits on the first one distract just as well as the band on the second.

But crayons never come out of the box perfect (unless you get them at the factory) Which is probably why it didn't seem as out of place to me. Kind of the idea that the nicks and "dirt" on the crayons is almost expected whereas the rubber band isn't.

If you were to shoot this again, I might take your light source and move it a little further away from the crayons. The lime green and white ones are fading into the background.
Also, since this is a square crop, I assume you chopped quite a bit off. I might have kept just a little more on the right side. It's just a little to tight for me.
Otherwise, everyone else seems to have covered everything I can see.

I love it. The focus is great and the colors are awesome. Only thing I'd do is clone out the rubber band.

Like the others, the rubber band kinda annoys me. I also think it could have done without the lighter crayons in the back - where they are, they just kinda fade away into the background, but I can't really think of any better place to put them.

I personally think this could benefit from tight cropping, and perhaps some rotation (as tightly cropped crayons laying on their sides might look a little odd).

This could draw more focus to the well exposed and focused areas, hide that rubber band, and take care of the crayons in the back. All while giving the impression that there was a sea of colors.

I've got a crop in mind, but I won't actually crop it unless you consent
