I know the sky in the upper right is over exposed but that's the effect I was going for. I was trying to show what is happening within the trees and all the chaos surrounding each leaf lays a branch with leaves basking in the sun creating energy from the sun for the tree.

I know what you are going for here, however, it is not the wash in the corner that bothers me, but the amount of foliage. I like the branch in the front, but I personally think there is way too much green here, my eyes want to jet around looking for somewhere to relax.

perhaps reducing the saturation of the leaves in the background?

That's what I was thinking! I was just sitting here looking at your photo thinking about what I would do if it were mine. I think you are right about that!
