Default Jumbograss

Hi there!

Today i brought my point-and-shoot camera with me the entire day for the first time. It was so great having it at hand all the time, definitely something i will do some more

It was raining heavy, and i was waiting for the bus, but suddenly there was a clearing. So i grabbed the chance to take some photos. There was a mess of people around me, but i managed to move some of them, so they didn't dim the light too much. I must have been looking like a giant idiot with all my upperbody down in that giant jar of jumbo grass, but who cares
The shot was taken in semi-manual mode since that's all what my camera offers.

EXIF info:
Exposure: 1/50
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO Speed: 50
Flash: Not fired
Light: Bright cloudy skies

bearfrieze, Welcome

If the single blade of grass, center right is the subject, and the rest support it, it is a pleasure to look at for the color and texture. Lower right short intruder is a distraction, cloning will leave rest of that side intact, instead of cropping.

yes i agree with the two comments. that little leaf at the lower left is a bit distracting. however, it's a very refreshing photo to look at.

Default New crop

Finally back home

I tried to do some cloning, but it's NOT very easy in Aperture. The spot and patch tool only works for, yeah, spot and patch :P I also tried Photoshop, but i simply couldn't get a result i was happy with.
But i made a crop wich i think does the job, and makes the subject pop more.
A clone solution would ofcourse be better, but i don't got the skills for that

Fantastic shot, I think leopard has the same sort of photo in the build in wallpapers and this shot is right up there with it. Congrats on it!

@jiminyClickit and Sid
Thank you guys, you really encourage me to keep spending my time on photography. I'm really obsessed about it at the moment, and i will definitely continue to take as much time as possible off for DP
Today i took some slow shutter speed pictures of tiny waterfalls, i will probably post one of them when i get the time to edit them.
Btw, got the book "Digetal nature photography closeup" waiting for me at the library tomorrow, hope that it will help me to improve my outdoor closeups further
