Default Can I do anything with this?

Hi guys,

I took this shot while on holiday and while it has some elements that I really like ie the background, I find that the foreground really ruins it, is there anything you could suggest for fixing this?

Thanks

Try cropping most of the background out, leaving the lit mountain top framed between the dark ridges. The sky might could use a bit of brighting to bring out the textures in the clounds, but it would be easy to go too far with it and ruin the mood.

if the original file is in color, there are a variety of ways to retrieve some of the detail in the shadows.....then you can convert back to your black and white if you wish....

good luck to you....

Depending on how you shot it (RAW or JPEG) you could go back and adjust the levels. My first thought though was to use it as a stock sky. If you can go back to the colour version (if it was shot in colour) this could be a really useful sky layer for other landscapes that do not have such an impressive ceiling.

Remember though! If you use stock skies as layers on other shots you have to be very conscious and careful of the light direction.

Hope you can improve or use it to your advantage
