Default Mr. Santa

Through a very busy Christmas season, this was the one shot I got that I really liked. However, I'm not nearly good enough that I want to just let it pass so I was hoping for you guys to help me here. Anything I can improve on?

Thanks everyone!

Lots of dark around. A good crop to cut it waaay down would keep me from wondering if the abominable snowman isn't lurking back there. I'd keep some of the glimmers to the left I think. That glint off the glasses should be avoided if possible. I rather like the idea.

How about cutting Santa's face in half and cropping a bit on the left (not too much though).

I agree with the idea of a really tight crop. The fake wispy beard gives some great contrast of highs and lows which gets lost with so much of the dark background.

A really close crop around the face with the candle could also lead to quite a spooky/scary feel. Might be worth a go and see if people are scared or still want to believe in him!

(I hope no under 5's are reading these posts!)
