Default Lion Cub South Africa

2004 SAFRICA Tskhudu 100

This picture was taken during a trip to South Africa visiting Tskhudu game lodge. I got the opportunity to walk with this lion cub in the afternoon sunshine. He had a favorite tree and just loved posing for the camera. He was also fond of shoe laces and made a bit of a game trying to stalk them and trip you up!!

What a gorgeous shot! I love the tongue sticking out. =)
With nature shots I know it's hard to pose animals so I think this is an amazing shot considering the circumstances! Thanks for sharing! What a great experience!! =)

miacat63, Welcome

You saved the great eyes of Junior, that's good. A little work in post could give the rest some contrast and darker shadows, even create a sunny area around the log.

Thanks for your kind replies. He was a beautiful subject to photograph and I shall never forget him! Am off to India soon to hopefully get some more tiger shots and have posted another few questions on the Canon questions site....so any extra help would be welcome. I am a real beginner with a new Canon 40D now with two lenses...but not enough experience or knowledge to fully use them...so any extra tips would be soooo welcome.
Thanks everyone..this is such a cool site and as a beginner this week on it, I think I will be visiting often!
