I don't like all the room at the top. I am also distracted by the front left strawberry being pointed right at me and being out of focus.

I like the color, the way it looks moist and inviting, and the pithy center of the left half.

pretty and colorful But I agree with the last post, too much room at the top ( you could lesson with cropping it) color is very vivid- I like it.

i like the placement of the two halves in respect to each other......i think that your exposure is very nice as well....

here's the buts.....your depth of field is too tight.....i would try something wider the next food shot....and my eye says as other's did...a landscape orientation would suit the berry better and not so tight a crop....

thanks for sharing...

KLNYC,

All I can see is the gorgeous color. With a little attention to framing and your background and focus, this would be perfect for selling D80's. Mouth-watering color. Please tell me there is some secret to your lighting. If it's just sunlight, it means I have to sell that kidney I've been saving for my retirement, to get a D80.

Okay thanks for the CnC, I will crop the top portion and see about it.

jiminyClickit,

I shot this strawberry in a ghetto light tent(I posted some where in here few weeks ago).
As for light, I use 2 x sb24(Strobist way) witht Ebay wireless trigger. And I used some of the strobe gel to enhance some color tone.

it shows you shot it at an F/5.3 which I think left a little too much out of focus.
Take that to f/8 and i think its a winner! Like Jiminy said the color is great and I think the angle of the pieces will be more eye pleasing once the whole strawberry is in focus.
