Cool My world view before 9am.

View through mug
I was bored and took this shot through the inside of my coffee mug. I'm surprised it turned out at all. Has anyone else taken a shot like this, or should I just "up" my meds and go back to bed? Thoughts on the shot?

This is really cool. The focus came out great for being through a coffee mug. I haven't ever taken a shot like this, but I'm going to try now. Great job.

I like it! My critique would be that perhaps there is a touch too much focus on the right of the image. Are those window blinds? If that were a touch more out of focus, it would convey more of a sense of tunnel vision.

To me the colour cast gives a sense of "overcast" or depression...

haha....i like it....it's fun and it's different and by golly it's in focus too....

and besides, how do you go about critiquing a shot using this method....

thanks for making me smile....

atlas88, yes those are windowblinds. I was sitting at my dining room table and tookthe shot towards my kitchen. I was afraid that the shot would be too dark if I didn't include at least part of a window. I'm never depressed when looking through this mug. It means that I'm getting the cafein I so desperately need. Lol

Neat. Can we call this the "coffee mug filter technique"?

Thanks for the feedback. I don't feel so stupid for trying this shot, now. I've always liked the way things looked through the bottom of this cup. I just never thought I could capture it in a way that others could appreciate. (or even like)
Whatever you decide to call this technique, is fine with me. Lol. I can't wait to see other atempts at similar shots. Thanks again.
