Default Little Boy at the Beach

I've just noticed that this is the version where I hadn't straightened up the horizon, but apart from that what do you think??

I know you can't see his eyes, but I just love the feeling I get from the pic.

KathrynWilson,

Tell us more of what it makes you feel. Other than "I like it," few people say why they took it, what it means to them or what emotion comes to them.

After I think "almost overexposed, might be more effective in opposite composition, and horizon" you mentioned, I think curiosity, exploration, discovery, and wonder. It's a good photo.

My eye wants to see a wider crop to see what hes looking at and what hes pointing at, but I think this crop works extremely well because it makes me wonder. In that way, not seeing is better than seeing because I've spent 30 seconds pondering this shot now, which I wouldn't do if it was wide angle.

Thank you for this. I'm sure you, or someone else has said it before in so many words, but it's a grand reminder of what the images we save in our heads and gadgets are supposed to reflect - emotions.

If not for the need to experience something that moves one emotionally, and the new tools to preserve and show it quickly to others to share the experience, photography would be just another job.
