Default Rings and Roses

This was a difficult shot to get. Nothing would let these rings show up at all, not even black!

Hi! Too much floor I think in this one (and its not even a pretty floor ).

You mentioned it was hard to get the rings to show up so I wonder if being a lot closer than you are would have helped. And it also seems a little bright in this pic and also in your last pic...can you do anything to make it a little darker?

I like looking at your pics though! Learning from others is fun!

Imagine them on a single large rose petal, lying on offwhite satin, taken from about 45 degree position, as close as your camera allows.

Jiminy is the one I'd ask advice of, as I'm a newbie too, but here is something.
Another option is to bring the rings up close and use the roses as background. With the correct aperture, both could still be in focus. I hope this helps.

It is a good concept, but there is too much floor and not enough of the rings. My suggestion is to put the rings a bit closer to the flowers, and change your viewpoint so you look down on the enough to see that they are rings.
