Hi,

These are both great shots and I really like the way they are both composed. Looking at the pictures it would be difficult to ensure balanced exposure across the elements (I say this because both include large bright and large dark areas). I don't know if you've used digital image enhancement to bring balance the exposure but it looks good to me.

If I was forced to change something I might suggest some post-production to bring out the detail of the people in the outsdoor shot as they are quite dark (though this might be because I'm looking at quite a small image with significantly reduced resolution).

As I say, these are both great shots.

These are good shots, i like the composition, although the steeple in the second paragraph seem to be a bit askew.

Welcome GoukisGirl! =) These are great shots, but I think you will find that more people will respond to and critique your photos if you only post one per thread. Try reading the guidlines for posting in the Critique My Shot forum before posting another thread. =)
Welcome again, and we're looking forward to seeing more of your shots!

Smile Thanks!

Hey everyone, thanks for the comments! I've been playing around with photo shop to fix the lighting. I agree that I think the dark spots are too dark so I've been trying to fix that.
I hope to post more of my shots and thanks again for the comments! It feels good to get some feedback!

Default A little photoshop

Ok, I took one of the pictures and tried photo shopping it a bit. I made it a bit lighter and cropped the top a bit. I found myself being drawn to (and distracted by) the angle of the windows at the top of the picture. Let me know what you think.
Oh, And from now on I will only post one picture a thread... sorry bout that!

Thanks

I hope I attached it correctly, I was trying a different way!

Welcome GoukisGirl. Think you might have gome a bit too far with the edit you have just posted. A bit of straightening and a crop starting at the top of the triangular window would keep that interesting detail in. Also, seems as if the outdoor area at the bottom of the big window has been blown out. Can't really tell what it was like on the original because Flickr is slobbing about in its Sunday PJ's!

Do like your 'steeple' shot too by the way (lol)

Thanks! I'm glad I kept the original picture, just in case...

Thanks about the steeple shot too! I was going to adjust the color on that as well. Try to brighten it up a bit.
