Default The Waitress...

Ok, I know you can't tell she's a waitress from this shot - but I got no other title. Fact is, she was a waitress at a bar local to a hotel I stayed in Chicago recently.

Thoughts?

I'm a sucker for b&w. My only critique is that the left side of her face, particularly around her eye, is slightly out of focus.

Do you often ask waitresses to pose for you??

Nice shot given that conditions aren't expected to be prime. Some background on the shot would be of help.

The composition is pretty sweet but motion blur and the single light source above her right side is a bit harsh. A deeper DOF{if editing was not used to blur parts} would add a softer transition.

Edit: It's DOF and not motion blur that's throwing me off. DOF is too tight.

I usually don't ask waitresses to pose, but I was there with several co-workers, and I was taking shots of them. She seemed interested in the camera and even wanted to take pictures of me with it. In return, I made sure I got one of her.

Unfortunately, due to lighting conditions, I had to throw the aperture nearly wide open. I couldn't afford anything smaller than f2. I already had the ISO boosted up to 1600. I shot at 1/15.

It's a good shot considering. Well done.
