What a lovely shot! I love the silhouettes off to the side adn the little row of trees on the horizon. The blue clouds and blue sky above the sunset is nice too. My only suggestion would maybe be to have tried a few shots without so much of the blue. I like this photo a lot, but it may have looked better to include more of the actual sunset in the frame instead of half the frame being a really dark cloudy blue sky. But at the same time the contrast is interesting so it's hard to say without it being shot another way...
I think it is a lovely photo, though, and appreciate you posting it!

I don't really understand why this one hasn't gotten more comments. The colors are wonderful, but there is a bit too much blue. The shot is more dramatic if you crop the top 1/3 of your blue and then trim the bottom. It will give the shot a panaramic feel.

i could have sworn i commented on this image yesterday.....but, with all the interruptions life offers up, it's possible i got sidetracked.....

i don't usually comment on sunset shots..however, this one i find appealing on a few fronts.....the color saturation for one is breathtaking....and the composition is something i would have looked for too....silhouttes are crisp and clean....

lovely shot......sorry it took so long for me to comment....

thanks

It's a beautiful image wih gorgeous deep colouring, love the heavy brooding sky. At first glance I thought oh oh, too much dark stuff making it all top heavy. But you know it actually gives it weight and menace. You could lose the merest strip off the top but not too far down or it loses too much of that majestic sky. It's one of those where neat thirds would be too neat possibly because of all the different horizontal lines in the lower part of the pic.

psykon99,

I see 2/3, minus the top 1/3 and right 1/3, that would get your composition to a place where the empty spaces didn't take away from the overall goodness. Chop, chop, less is more.

Default Like this a lot...

might suggest a little different crop; rob from the bottom a hair and add to the top a hair. A little more sky (VERY dramatic) and a little less of the water, and by jove, I think you'll have a p-e-r-f-e-c-t shot. Wonderful mood in this photo - good work!

Nice catch. Maybe cloning out some of the lights that were captured. It might help to make the picture more of a silhouette.
