This is another from my State Park photoshoot! Once again with my 50mm, I love this lens for these kind of shots, I almost forget I have others!

I love this perspective, you can almost feel the pain of the victim tree! I have others of the end of this log on the right, but the background is too unfocused!

IMO, the subject and background and merging. The photo lacks contrast due to the nature of location. Maybe a case for post processing - b&w hiked contrast / saturation stuff?

interesting subject.....i can see why it stopped you dead in your tracks to shoot it....

i do agree though that this image lacks contrast....maybe it was a cloudy day?....that could be corrected if a reshoot is possible....

another thought is that a wider depth of field would have done this ole guy justice....
