Wow, i like this one,

Can i ask how you did the effect? it looks almost like an old slide picture, or one of those pictures old people have from way back when, in an album that is held together by bits of tape and string lol,

I like the compostiton with the tree being lonely and withered, with spindly fingers reaching out to something new,

Nice picture!

ike,

i blended 2 images together using layers in GIMP - and you're right (kinda)... it's through a viewfinder lens image i found - elongated and placed on top of the tree... took me 3 hours to figure it out!

gilbertgurl,

Ouch. If you're an old dog, I'm a layer of dust on the furniture. But I did have impure thoughts, seeing the "Dirty, dirty tree" title. Your subject saves this from being "gimmicky," and allows "dirt" to be a suggestion of blowing leaves. Good combination of imagination, kid.

I find myself grinning @ "kid" as I haven't felt young in years! Thank you for your thoughts and for the smile this morning

I really like that image, gilbertgurl, as I'm a fan of making images looking all old, worn or grunged up (check out my image in the nude section). Hope to see more of your work.

Gilbertgurl, I love this shot. Very interesting and I love the effect. My friend took a similar image once with her Holga camera. If you are interested in getting more shots with this type of effect I'd suggest getting one. They are very cheap and very fun to play with. Do a google search on Holga and let me know what you think.
By the way, I take it from your name you are from Gilbert... my parents grew up there, and went to Gilbert High School. In fact, my Grandmother still has a house right across the street from Gilbert Elementary on Elliott. I lived in Mesa as a kid and still miss the warm winters and orange trees everywhere! Plenty of places to get some great shots all year round! I'm jealous as now i'm stuck in Utah where I'm usually stuck inside because of the snow storms (like right now! lol!).
Anyway, I got off topic there for a minute but it's great to have you on the forum and thanks so much for your pic and for sharing!
