Default Butterfly

This is my first photo post at DPS - I hope it works!
This photo was taken at the butterfly house at Tucson Botanical Garden. What could I have done differently? Is it too 'busy'? Need cropping?

Welcome Lial!

I would include a little more flower or try and get a higher angle to get more of the good parts of it - the top. It would also be more interesting if there was a little more something to the left for it to be looking into. The white areas in back are quite distracting. A higher angle may have helped avoid those too.

Nice crisp colors and good DOF. Please keep sharing!

color saturation, exposure, depth of field.....alll dead on to my eye.....nice job....

i don't know what kind of room you had for the crop but it looks a little forced into the frame....a minor thing really....all in all a really terrific shot....

thanks for sharing

LiaL, Welcome

Camera did its part, giving sharp face parts to butterfly and catching flower reflections on undersides of legs. Changing composition will improve attention on butterfly.

Thanks so much for your comments and suggestions. Sometimes I get so caught up in the subject of my photo that I forget to plan better composition of the shot. I'll work on it.
