Default These little lights of mine!!!

o.k after playing with GIMP and not being able to download the help manual and basically just playing around blindfolded- this is what I came up with. Does it look better than the previous ? thanks.....

Yes, the lightsticks really pop now!

There are instructions for the Gimp online ... have to google it, but they are all over the place. try www.gimpguru.org for a start. Also try youtube ... and do a search for gimp tutorials, there are some there.

I did use the Gimp up until about a month ago when my son got me Photoshop through school

Oh yeah, there is also at least one book out on The Gimp ... I saw it in the bookstore when I was looking for Photoshop books :-)

sorry - kidding i'd just love a D300

It's a very cool shot, love the powerfull glow on thoose sticks, the colors and the perspective!

kimspics,

When you can layer one copy of a photo over another (think sheets of clear plastic), you can change each item separately. So, red eye fix is one layer, glowsticks brightened/contrasted, daughter darkened on their own layer.

You've done a very nice job of editing here. You're better at it than I am, and I've had GIMP for over a month. Love the shot. Think I'll go practice now.
