The only comment I can give is that the bright white area to the left detracts fron the rest of the image - It's quite harsh on the old eye balls. Other than that it's a nice enough image.

You have a beautiful model to shoot! Make sure you focus on her eyes. The background is not very busy, but there are some things that distract from her face a bit, and I'm sure you want that to be the main focal point. The pattern of her shirt draws my attention first, and the pillow and creases in the chair also draw attention. Her pose seems fine though.

she is a lovely woman your wife......

the pose feels natural and her skin tone is nice.....the buts are pretty much what the others offered.....the highly contrasted background needs to be watched out for in any photo....thank goodness you exposed for her face or all would be lost.....i agree that her eyes should be where you set your active focus point......going with a plain, nonpatterned blouse will give her beautiful face more priority.....

for the record.....i know you're putting yourself out there when you offer up an image for critique and it can be a real nail biter wondering what other members might think.....try to relax a bit.....there are a lot of submissions for critique on this site and many get lost in the shuffle.....some folks tend to just skim the shots for their own enjoyment.....no comments aren't necessarily a bad thing.....

thanks for sharing

Suggestion: use the word "model" in first describing your shot, not "wife." Your only question was "What do you think?" and it is much more likely you'll get comments about a model than about your wife. Both are true, "wife" is charged with meaning.

Another suggestion: if there is clutter, move your "model" to a better position, instead of having to add a big white space by cloning.
