I went to my friend's place to see them practise for their concert next week. I had to struggle for the light. Light was really low. i have no idea what i did to my camera to get the right white balance with fast shutter speed. anyways, it took 50 shots and more than 45 mins. before i was bit satisfied with the results. i find this one interesting. i will post more probably, tomorrow. Oh! BTW 'Close' is name of their band. please feel free to comment/critique

I really like the idea and the light works on the keys and the ones pressed. I feel this could have worked with a more even amount of hands to piano. The angle works and I usually like diagonal lines. This one could have went a little more towards the top corner.
Good shot and even better you have the patience to work at it till you get the one you like. Thats alot harder to learn than the rules....

Rehan - Since the subject is playing a instrument that calls for fast movement of hand and fingers, instead of fast shutter speed, it will be a good idea to set the camera on tripod / table and use a slow shutter speed and capture the motion of fingers on the piano with piano sharply in focus. My cousin tried similar thing in a Tabla concert (Indian Classical Instrument) and the results were quite stunning.

Aakash
