Default Orange Rose

Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and to photography as well, and I was wondering if you could help me out with this photo. It's my first time to take a photo of a rose this close.

Orange Roses 3

Thanks in advance!

What Camera are you shooting with?

Well anyhow, you can search for the word "Macro" within this site or the world wide web and you will be able to find an array of information. Happy hunting.

I'm using a Canon PowerShot SD870 IS. Thanks for the tip, I'm reading some stuff here in the DPS forums as well and I'm starting to learn a lot.

Thanks!
I wasn't sure if it's better to use a black background or white for shots like this, especially with this kind of angle.

It's nice that you were able to get off a shot with a point and shoot Canon so Kudos to you for that. All the info you'll read about micro photography will deal most of the time with DSLR type cameras. Good luck.

I can see this shot on the front cover of "Roses" magazine- I think it is gorgeous and can smell it's scent just by looking at it !!!!

the color saturation is just wonderful.....and as far as the choice of background color goes.....the green is a perfect complement to the orange...

nice job....
