Default Im so lucky!!

hey Everyone!

Once again taking way too many pictures of my kids. Thought I would combine two from today for something new. Does it work? What could I do to improve it? Does anybody have a better way or know of any tutorials about combining images? This took much longer than I'm willing to admit Still so new too all this.....

mackenziedawn,

(Never ever is offense intended, but if it happens, I know how to delete.)

"Johnny, peering intently out his upstairs window, suddenly realized he had been hearing a heavy breathing for the past few minutes. He could not have known Giant Baby had escaped, and was coming to reclaim his room."

When two disparate subject sizes are combined, you can get a sense that something is "off." Not always (composition, light/dark, pose can make it work sometimes), but here it just looks as if you had a story to go with it.

Switching sides would help a little, "Johnny" looking to his left, sort of towards "GB." And "GB" leaning right towards "Johnny." Lighten dark one some, darken light one; less contrast between them may also help.

Two similar-sized subjects will present less of a problem. What did you find most difficult in the combining process?

Hi Mackenziedawn

I don't feel confident enough to comment on other pictures yet, but as to combining pictures, try Big Huge Labs - Flickr Toys

http://www.bighugelabs.com/flickr/

Scroll down that list and there is one for Mosaic Maker

http://www.bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php

I just created a mosaic with vertical pictures .. the default is 4 but I only wanted 3. I created it anyway, and then saved the result to my hard drive. There, I brought it into photoediting and just cropped it down to get rid of the 4th blank box. Very quick.

Hope this helps

HA!! Mr. Clickit! You made me laugh out loud! No offense taken. I very much see your point. "GB" does look pretty daunting. I actually was thinking the same thing when I was editing them, I worried about different subject sizes. Somethings work. Something don't. I guess thats why this is called a learning process! As for the combining process, my major hang up was on the resizing of all the pictures to fit together and the appropriate "new" document size. Thanks for all your imput....and don't worry..Johnny is safe ....for now.....
