Default How to resize it better?

I hope I post it right...
It's my first post in this forum, Is there anything I can do to improve this shot?
I don't know why every time I resize and upload my photo, it becomes duller and not as clear as the original.

Like this one here, the original size is 5.5 MB.. I use Finepix viewer to resize it

strawberry tasik

f/20'
App 11
ISO 100
Focal 21.6mm
Finepix S6500fd

Any suggestion how to resize and upload it better?

Rgds

ktutardika, Welcome

Twenty seconds?

You're on Flickr, where I don't lose anything in quality that I'm aware of, so I might say that smaller sizes may appear less detailed because they are. It isn't a question easily answered without knowing what you see on your monitor.

What are the dimensions (inches) of your photo and pixel per inch? The dimensions on Flickr suggest you uploaded a small image.

Scroll down to the section on Resize-Induced Softening.

If it seems duller than usual, it may be because you're saving the picture in a different colour space than can be seen in most browsers. Most browsers will only correctly display pictures in the sRGB space. Anything else tends to look dull because all the colours can't be read. Search for color profiles or color spaces on google

@ Jiminy Clickit
20 sec indeed.. the lights were poor and I can't use flash in super macro mode.
I see too much more noise on my monitor which I don't see at the original file.
I can't find how many pixels per inch of my photo (what a fool ) where to find it ? since my finepix viewer don't provide such info.

@jamesc359
Thanks for the link.. I'll try it

@Nicole
I save my pic in sRGB color space.. but I'll try to googling to find out what u mean.
Thanks Nic

For a while I actually was saving my photos without any embedded colour profile because it wasn't turning out right. Eventually I managed to get my workflow setup in a way that things were ending up online the same way that I intended them to. Good luck getting it working

Hi,

In Finepix viewer select FILE on the menu, then Check File Size and go to the summary tab this gives you the pics proprties.

Nice photo BTW

Hi Arun
Isn't it as same as file info? The check file size only describes file properties such as file location, file size, attributes etc, I think file info on the right side provides more info, or maybe I got confused by file dimension mentioned by jiminy..

Thanks

ktutardika,

I haven't used my Finepix Viewer to edit; I have Adobe PhotoDeluxe where the dimensions including pixels-per-inch are shown. Later today I'll look into Finepix, unless you've switched to another edit program?
