Default Jumping Skier

This I took in Zauchensee... It was just supposed to be a Test Shot but it ended up being good (or at least better than the other shots of that day ^^ ) so now it's here
What do you guys think?

Neat capture. What may have worked even better is if you could have gotten lower to the floor and captured more sky. Nevertheless, a good shot.

I like it, but Matthew is right. The white/black skis get lost in the b/g but then looks like you may have had trouble contrasting it against the sky with the amount of cloud. always love a good action shot though

Some toying with the Shadow/Highlight tool in CS3 brings some lovely detail back into the trees and snow, along with grater contrast in the sky. You'd probably have even more luck applying this to the full size image. Compare the edit on the left to the original on the right - its a personal choice.

Ah, see, I see the problem... he's skiing on Atomics rather than Volkls ;-) [sorrrrrry] great picture... makes me want feb to come even quicker [Hello Colarado!] ..I sort of echo what the others mentioned, get in low and close... get rid of enough snow [but keep enough for context] o make the shot a bit more contrasty off of the sky [if that makes sense]

Austria looks fun!...

Thanks Mr. Clipit, I liked what you did.. I will try that on the Full Size Image as soon as I get back from work ^^

And Sime: I'd have to agree, I too prefer Völkl skis when it goes freestyle^^ (although I board a lot more than I ski so that decision is not based on experience :P)

I hope I'll get more chances to do some Action Shots in the snow this Winter where I will then try to apply the advice, thanks

Post Snow

Did you notice that the snow is grey? I would try lightening the snow so it is more white and the whole picture should POP more. With that in mind check your exposure when taking shots in the snow as this is common.

I shoot multitudes of sports shots, and I know you sometimes have to take what you can get.

I think the shot wood have been way better if you could have positioned yourself to have shot from his left instead of right side.
