Fence in the distance

I cant decide if I like this or not. I was playing around with this fence and different settings to get a feel for depth of field.

exposure at 1/250 , f6.3 and 40mm amd iso set at 100.

Wood might have worked, if a full post was at the focus point, and background not so bright (is that snow?). This just seems to be too little information, color, texture.

3 012 is so much better.

it is snow. and mighty cold. hmm I see what you mean. I tried cropping it down but I am still not liking it so much. Maybe just good practice at dof.

Sometimes you have to see it to believe in it, or throw it against the wall to see if it sticks, or, you know. Colors also have a low saturation. Try squinting at it; what's there?
