Default Sushi...our dog.

I snapped this picture of her yesterday, it was one of the only ones where she was looking at me (I disturbed her from a nap!). Any thoughts?

vms0427,

Forgive the comparison, but from this angle and crop, it just says "Wookie" to me. If you have not seen Star Wars, that won't mean anything. But I think if I were your dog, I'd bite you.

My thoughts would include waiting for another more relaxed moment and getting a better full face portrait, or full body. Just so it looks more doglike. And focus on the eyes.

Wookie:

Or sell it at a Star Wars convention.

Just looks like a whole lot of hair. Try a full face shot when the time is right.

vms0427,

Holding my breath, hoping you would share the humor. I wouldn't really bite, but I know some pet caretakers are very sensitive. Thanks for seeing how it could be a case of mistaken species identity. Lighting is a huge factor, and framing.

... and context. With the shot rotated so the dog's head is not laying on the ground, it just looks wrong. Rotating this pic correctly makes more visual sense.
