I am looking forward to becoming a better photographer through the help of this great website, and the comments and critiques of any who care to take the time to view my efforts.

I dunno... looks like a great shot to me. Was it shot B&W or was it done in post-production? If you photoshopped it I'd love to see the original. Only suggestion would be to put some more contrast between the mountain and the sky. Other thing I noticed is that the upper right hand corner is dark, I'd try to lighten that up a lil bit.

I like this shot. I went to your Flickr account and looked at the color version. What made you convert it to B&W? The color version is nice, as well. The only other editing I could see was a leveling of the horizon. If you had done that to the color version, it would be just as good, giving both Color and B&W fans an eyeful. Beautiful shot of some beautiful scenery. I look forward to seeing more of your posts.

I like the composition, although I'd try to get a little more contrast in the mountain. It seems a little washed out.

I like your composition and agree about the darkened upper right corner. I think you need a little more seperation between the trees and mountain. They seem to blend together a bit. Overall a good photograph. Also, I like the color version a lot as well.

I agree about the trees fading into the moutain. I thought a good way to fix this would be to crop tighter around the mountain. I think overall it's an amazing shot and the black and white version looks like it's from back in the day! Thanks for the post.

yea, this is one of those rare few photos where it looks well-balanced in both color and b&w. guess they're useful in different spots - some walls look better with gray than color.
