Boat in Mist

Hi,

This photo was taken on a grey misty day what stood out for me was the colour of the dinghy on such a drab day.

Any suggestions on post production techniques that would make an average photo better?

Cheers

Stuart

If I were you and I wanted the Dinghy to be the center of my picture (and you're right it does stand out beautifuly against the foggy background), I would crop it so that it stands out more on its own. Because of the size of the other boats and the mountains in the background your eyes are drawn almost everywhere but the dinghy first, and only notices it later in my own opinion. I would crop the photo so that the dinghy is the main focus in a similar way as I did below, and then maybe use photoshop to enhance the color to make it really pop.

Just my own opinion. =) You did capture a great mood and an interesting shot, though!

Have you tried it as a B&W at all? I only say that because the image is almost all grey anyway, so why not go the whole way and convert it?
