Sailing Nowhere

Nikon D50
Shutter Speed: 1/4 sec
Aperture: f/18.0
ISO 200
Focal Length: 38mm

In photoshop, I enhanced the reds/yellows of the sky, the blues of the water, and the colors of the boats.

Two words: Circular Polarizer. I just got one for christmas, and it works wonders. It brings out the colors. It makes blues very deep, and reds pop out, as well as stop reflections from non-metallic surfaces.

I am not an expert by any means but I'm happy to give my opinion as a viewer. The mood of this photograph is captured beautifully. The calm before the day (at the end of the day?) type of shot is always great. Sunlight is soft and gentle and glowing. I like what you did with the color of the boats as well, the blues are amazing.
Technically I don't have much to suggest. I thought at first the shot may look better lightened up just a little, but I see how you'd lose some of the mood you wanted to capture here by doing that.
Overall a gorgeous shot!
