Default the kiss...

IMG_6378

i shot dark for my post work....moved the midpoint in levels to the right a smidge....sharpened.....duplicated the layer and set to overlay....crop...and a brown vignette set to soft light....

two things.....

the original has a bit of wiggle room all around the subjects.....what do you think of the crop?

and secondly, i like to think i have a light hand at post work......is there any improvement i could try?.....i'm open to anything....

thanks for your time....

peeperita,

Hitler Kitty could use your light touch to go 5% lighter (or less), then background on left darkened 5% (or less). It's about monitors, more than that it needs any real improvement. The change would just assure H.K. stands out. Too cute for still photography, wonderful eyes. Mom and offspring?

Default Crop Adjustment

jiminy: Hitler kitty!!!!! LMFAO!! =) Brilliant.

peeperita: I'll leave the editing stuff for other people to comment on because I am new at Photoshop and other editing programs so my advice would be useless. However as to your question about the crop I think you could potentially play around with how far in you frame the subjects. To cut out the colors of the carpet and really focus on the eyes of "Hitler Kitty", which really is the most interesting thing in the shot, you could try a tighter crop. However, the first crop is great too, just thinking out loud really.

I hope you don't mind me cropping your original image, but I did so to kind of show what my thought process was.

jiminy....believe it or not, i thought of you today when i shot these guys......i thought about your newest companion and how warm and fuzzy these little guys can make you feel.......i agree about separating hitler from the background more.....i tried not to be too obvious but the result was too little......

amira.....that's a nice thought for framing....as i said, i had lots of room to manuever in....the only thing lacking was inspiration......your crop definitely puts the focus on hitler's eyes....

and as an aside.....hitler really is named hitler.....

thanks for your comments.....

oops....yes, jiminy.....that's mom being a little protective after hitler's earlier photo session with my friend, chris.....he was more than a little vocal being separated from his mother......

lol! I didn't realize Hitler was actually the cat's name! What a cute name!! I truly love it. Very appropraite and I must say very adorable creatures! =) Thanks for sharing this pic, it is so cute!

I myself have been wanting to get a kitten for quite some time, but the hubbie and I are both alergic so we are contemplating getting a sphynx or some breed that doesn't shed as often as others. I'm absolutely jealous because yours look like such characters! =)

peeperita,

I took a chance. He wasn't round enough to be Oliver (Hardy).
