This is the second photo i've critiqued today with the selective B&W technique. and this is the second good photo i've seen today with the Selective B&W technique. That's rare that I see two that i like on one day.

What makes this photo:
the eyes are SO crisp, and the blue is PERFECT for the image.
The body of the dog is very crisp. A great focus job and superb selection of f/.

I see nothing wrong with this image. The eye leads in from the bottom left like a book...well kinda. anyways, the lines converge and draw the eye in across the photo. Then the eyes looking in the opposite direction draw the eye back to the entrance of the photo. You cut off almost half of the canvas and yet it was in a good way. You cut it off by keeping it out of the DOF, and with the eyes. When I look in the cut off section, I seem almost bad because i look there. It's like I'm begging, or I get a cookie from the cookie jar (Which is what I think the dog is looking at, frankly )

I don't know what to say. Superb job. Seriously.

Default Cute dog!

Hmm, let's see. First I have to say, your dog is adorable!

I think that for me the crop is a little awkward. Is this how the picture was shot? Or did you crop it in? To me it just feels like he is a bit crowded in the bottom corner there. If you do have a shot with more room at the bottom, perhaps try to crop so that it gives a little more there, because it would show the other paw as well.

And yes, nice job on the selective color. Its always fun to play with.
