Default Christmas stress

Would love to hear your thoughts - I intended to keep the WB slightly off to give more of as warm glow to the skin.

Would love to see more of the face and maybe a smashed tree decoration on the table. I also believe that the wire should be tangled around her hand and neck. Just my opinion
Merry Christmas

I think it is a great shot. I might be inclined to trim it a little along the top and right edges so that the figure (self portrait?) is less centred and the diagonal created draws the viewer across more of the picture but otherwise think it is very impressive and certainly captures the title.

No offense but how can a string of lights show the Christmas madness? It is a great shot nevertheless but I see no reference to Christmas. Post this picture during easter time and...it could be anything.

Christmas is the only time of year when I am used to seeing fairy lights strung up, so the association is fairly strong. I think it conveys stress by the low light and the image of being bound up; for me, at least, it also has strong seasonal connotations.

Madkitty,

Colored lights might reduce any uncertainty. I just had to rethink your title, going at first to thoughts of chaos and hustle/bustle. But you said "stress," so this is more subtle and works in its understated lighting and posture. It's growing on me.

Also, hanging christmas lights is one of the most stressful parts of the season!

I love this shot. I echo the comments about trimming just a little from the top and sides. Other than that, I don't think there's anything I would change. Well done!

hahahaha I hate coloured lights the word stress probably came into it as it had literally been one of those days and it was more apt to me personally! Its very easy to get wrapped up in your own shots and forget to look at them as an outsider and this has helped me learn this. Thanks guys x
