Default Shroom Tree

Ok, I think they're shrooms. Shows how ignorant I can be of forest growth.

psykon99,

A fungus of some kind, certainly. If you're really curious, here's some help in identifying anything similar you may find:

Ever get to Turkey Run State Park, North of Terre Haute? Camera Paradise, I would imagine. Last time I was there (1968), without a camera, it was gorgeous, overwhelming (for Indiana, anyway).

The upper left quarter of your photo has a strength to it. Is it already cropped? Have you tried others?

I haven't done any cropping. The framing is straight from the camera.
