Default Perfumes

Mom's Collection

I had quite some time today during Xmas, so I decided to setup and experiment with the home-made light-tent tutorial.

Here's one with a portion of my mom's perfumes / scents. I experimented with photoshop for awhile, and found that the vignetting effect fitted this one well. I know this kind of defeats the purpose for a 'homemade-studio' set up, but I quite like it.

The light I was using had a warm color, so I set the WB in my 400D to Tungsten light. That gave my paper a hint of pink, but oh well.

Canon EOS 400D
EF 17-40mm lens
Focal Length: 29mm
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/4
Shutter speed: 1/25
Post Processed (Tonal / Vignetting)

Any crits would be appreciated (:

I'm not very experienced in lighting or product shots. But imo vignetting with products give it a "cheap" look. It does seem to kind of defeat the pupose of setting up the white all around.

I think a fill light on the right side would help alot. If you don't have a second light try using a white paper or board to bounce your light. The set up looks good tho.

That's my setup, but instead of using the cloth suggested for the sides, I used art paper instead to bounce light. However I really need a better light diffuser (i'm using tracing paper to cover up my light).

Thanks for the comments guys!
