I think your WB is a little off as the snow in sun looks a bit grey and I would crop some off the right and bottom to put the girl on the right third line.

Not sure that I understand the whitebalance point as the girl's hat is perfectly white. If the whitebalance were off then the hat would be grey. I think it was just a grey day with not much light on the snow. Correct me if I am wrong but white balance would not impact some white differently than other white (or any color).

Nice shot!!

I have some suggestions based purely on my personal opinion but rather than simply give you a list of reccomendations, I downloaded, edited and uploaded the image to show you the results.

Girl Walking After Snow edited

Changes made in Lightroom;

Cropped to bring the little girl into the RH third of the shot
WB nudged ever so slightly
Subtle boost in the blacks to improve contrast
Slight highlight recovery to add detail to snow and improve green jacket
Lastly I added a small amount of vignetting to darken the edges of the shot and to make the subject (the girl) stand out a little better.

All in all very minor changes, hope you approve?

In the original on your Flickr, it looks like the hat is more of a cream than a pure white, it definitely has some yellow/orange cast at least. Depends on whether you think the actual snow at the time was greyish or not. Don't know if it would be possible but I would try to get rid of the grasses in the top right - that way the girls jacket would pop more as a result of being the only green. That's more of personal taste issue though

I can only tell you how it looks on my computer. How it looks on your computer may be very different, particularly as I use a laptop so how it looks on my computer depends on the angle I have the screen at. It's a common problem on photography sites and you should take any comment about colours with a pinch of salt.

I agree here, I use a profiled monitor and when I looked at the image after downloading it, the white balance looked pretty good to me. I tweaked just enough to bring some colour back into the leaves. Also judging by the shadows is it possible the shot was taken mid-late afternoon? This would naturally add a slight golden cast to the scene

All in all it's still a great shot, definately a keeper.

That could explain it. I have calibrated my monitor with a Spyer2.

Ewie - I like your edits, thanks.

I like the second much more than the first. The rule of thirds really did well in the second pic. I wouldn't change anything else.
