Looks like you got the exposure correct on this one. I just find it a bit busy for me. What are you trying to focus on?

I agree for the most part, though when I saw the bigger version there seems to be a little noise on the blue car's hood. Just a small detail.

My main problem is that I don't really know where to look. There doesn't seem to be a subject. Maybe next time you could have someone standing in the middle for a nice portrait.

I think this is a good lesson in simplicity. I've taken so many similar shots thinking how cool they looked when I took them... then, blah. I still take them. I'll admit it.

If you look at this shot, there are some interesting shops with people walking the sidewalks in front of them. Then there is a row of trees... or an apparent row of trees blocked by the tree in front. Then there are parked cars, moving cars and buildings across the road. The court-house building is *begging* for attention, but there's that big white box and all those fancy new cars in the foreground eating it all up.

There's just too much here for the eye to find something to really care about. As much as you might want to 'take it all in' in photography, I think the opposite is often the desired effect.

Thank you all... I think it was the perspective leading into the distance that caught my eye, yes too busy. Perhaps if I had stood in the middle of the road it would have been better. Douglas

Yes - i saw what you were trying to do with the perspective. Maybe the middle of the road would work (so long as your not going to be knocked down or find more traffic to increase how busy the shot is!) I notice however that there is a tree right in the middle of the photo - this is where my eye is drawn but it feels awkward there and really wants to follow the line of the cars and of the shops. So maybe a few steps left or right would help you to follow one line or the other more specifically rather than converging on a tree in the way of the skyline or appreciating the roads perpective... Also getting down lower and looking along the line of cars/shops whatever you are most interested could change the photo completely!

Just a thought!

Yes, perhaps to step in line with the "line" in the middle of the sidewalk? Douglas

I'd suggest having a quick look at this tutorial (sure helped me) http://digital-photography-school.co...rule-of-thirds, decide what your key points of interest are and try and make sure they are what line up!

Like with the first image of the bee they have chosen one side to focus on maybe you need to choose one side of the street to focus on?
