That's a really nice shot. Next time if your shooting in bright sun, try shooting at a smaller aperture, and it will help hold some of the detail in the white water better.

I usually shoot surf shots between 1000 to 2000 of a second, and around f/8 to f/11.

Not that there is anything at all wrong with your shot, just something to try next time, to see what you think.

well...the shot of water and surfer being fast is tricky, in sense that u have to freeze water...i like the surfer position and droplets of water which are rising...but the background land distracts me...i would try with a tighter crop and see what i can acheive...all in all a nice shot..cheers
