Default Autumn Leaves

I took this shot while out working in the field with a P&S. I wanted to capture the light through the leaves and also just a hint of the sun's flare on the edge of the leaf as well. I had to keep shooting until I finally found one that was close to my vision. I really liked how the colors turned out but the bokeh is a little harsh in the background. Can't expect much fromm a P&S.

My goal was to capture some nice colors of the leaves with the sunlight behind it. I wanted to capture the flare of the sun. I tried to implement the rule of thirds on the big leaf but didn't quite get it on the third since it was a little breezy that day.

I happen to be pretty satisfied with the picture but maybe you guys can see something that I'm not aware of that would improve it.

Default i've never seen leaves so sexy.

Looks pretty rad to me, but im not exactly a professional photographer. I just figured any positive feedback is good feedback.

well done.

I actually appreciate your feedback very much. I'm glad that you like the picture. I would like to be able to take picture that not only make me go "wow" but others as well. I really got tired of taking just "normal" pictures and thanks to DPS, I really learned a lot of photography that I never dreamed was available.

Those "Point and Shoot" cameras really brainwashed me into thinking that all I had to do was "point and shoot". Well, I'm finding out that it doesn't work that way and learning "tricks" from this place really has helped me a lot. I've still have a long road to go but at least I know that I have started on the right road.

I think you achieved your stated goals quite well. I would wish for about 1/3 stop less exposure. Perhaps you can achieve that in PP if you agree.

Excellent image.
