I'm a newbie (so not that experienced)... but for what it's worth; Very nice pic! I'd try crop a bit off the top and bottom - it seems to bring more focus to the bug and less to the circle 'thingy' top right..

Wow....nice use of selective coloring. May I ask you to share the method you used for selective coloring?

I simply desaturated the pic in PS then history brushed where i wanted to show the colour. I read about that technique somehwere on here and it's probably the easiest way of creating this effect...unless you know another way?

I like the angle of your photo. Nice capture. Have you tried getting a closeup of its head?.. might be a good try...
