It is nicely composed but somehow the picture is a bit blurry to me.

did you use a tripod? What was your f-stop on this, the DOF is quite shallow.

Thanks for replying, no I didn't use a tripod. It was a candid moment when I happened to see the plant.

libby, Welcome

Candid is a good way to gain a lot of experience. They can also be shot well, once that experience builds, increases your speed of setting your camera for different situations, and learn methods of steadying your camera. Good eye for composition here, a little tight on right side (if you wanted center of bloom to be placed on "thirds" intersection). Color is eye-catching, good catch.

Can it be a candid moment with a flower? It is unlikely to blush, put its hands in front of its face or turn away when it sees you with the camera so you might be better off taking a little more time than you would snatching a picture of a person.

Overall, I like this shot except for the softness, which could probably have been fixed with a little more time.
