I took this photo on the airplane going to China over the north pole. The first (the one that's all white) is the original the second is post-production. Did I go to far? Is the subject interesting enough?

Thanks

It is interesting..although I'm not sure I would have completely understood what it was without the description. It also seems to be lacking something but I can't put it into words..it just feels kind of empty? But then again, it is the north pole right, so maybe the emptiness helps convey the feeling of "northpole-ness"? lol . secondly, the top of the post-production image seems a little blown out so perhaps try and fix that.

It's a cool "snap" cause it's out of a plane..and it's over the North Pole.

I like the post one more, and I agree without a discription I would be wondering what it was...still cool in my book!!!!!!

First I think this could do with moving to the Before and After with some descriptive steps.

I disagree about it being blown out. I think this is a fairly good recovery. It's obvious at first glance to me that this is an aerial shot of a cold area whether it be arctic, or antarctic. Looks more like far north Alaska based on the visible terrain. It can't be the North Pole because 'a river doesn't run through it'. Couldn't help myself on that one, sorry.

I think it's a little too blue. The levels adjustment seems okay, but a little more playing with the color balance could do. Consider a little unsharp mask.
