Default Royal Courts

The Royal Courts of Justice in London is an amazingly historical place and has architecture to match.
During the day its the home to law suits and all things legal, at night time, the place gets transformed into an entertainment venue.

I was running a job there the other night for the lighting company and was lucky enough to have my camera on me. Here's one of the shots I snapped just as the evening kicked off. I have a couple more photos if anyone wishes to see them.

Well-what a great way to offset taxpayer costs. You did a great job of capturing the colors. I'm guessing you were using a tripod and a pretty long exposure?
Thanks
Shelly

Yeah, I'm sure it costs a fair whack to hire it out! The other bonus of getting in for events is that I can take a camera in! You're not allowed cameras in during normal operations.

I didn't have a tripod with me so hand held most of my shots. Some were taken off balconies and I used the ledge as a basic tripod.
There's are the spec's for this shot:

Aperture: f/4.0
Shutter Speed: 1/5 second
ISO Rating: 200
Focal Length: 17mm

Nicole, Thanks! This is what I do for a living (lighting and fairy tale balls!) so if you ever want to plan one....

steevdavis62, I did contemplate cropping some of the black off the bottom, but I thought it would look a little odd with only part of the table showing. The full table makes it feel a bit more complete!

The hall must have been a long one. That's the feeling I get from the position of the shot and the ceiling to ground height looks - well - high

Great shot.
