Default Snowy Tree at Night

I just got my first SLR last week (an XTi) I thought I'd put up one of my favorite pictures, I just shot it tonight. I was having a bit of troubles with the white balance when shooting due to the yellow lights illuminating the quad. Unfortunately i'm still not sure how to deal with this on the camera itself so I did it in Picasa. Anyways, here's the image:

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I like the overall composition of the shot. I don't know what post edit work you did, but the overall affect is pleasing. 20 second exposure time at 800 ISO seems a bit long. I think a lower ISO and faster shutter speed might reduce the brightness some.

Nice - I like the contrast of the sky vs trees. Even got some stars up there

Heh, i'm actually in Golden, Colorado (I noticed where you were from). It was about 10F when I went out. I didn't bring a hat (mistake) but I did wear snow pans so i was able to kneel and lay in the snow to take shots like this. It wasn't a very tall tree so i had to put the tripod as low as possible and lay back to look though the viewfinder.

I find the colors to be pleasing in this image. Also your depth of feild is nice every branch is sharp and in focus. In a perfect world senerio I think the trees in the background distract a little from the main tree but theres little you can do to cure that. Perhaps try and find a tree that stands alone or further away from other trees in the background.

Keep up the good work. I don't notice very much noise when using 800 iso in this image so I think your ok on that front. Perhaps dropping it to 100 you may notice a little less noise but really I don't find it hurts the image.
