This is a tough one because it is difficult to place the barbed wire where it won't be distracting. If you shoot from a lower perspective, you will lose the farm building in the back ground. May want to crop off a little of the dark sky as the dark tone adds additional "weight" to the image. The horizon divides the image in half as currently cropped. If you had moved a little to the right, would that have elimianted the radio towers in the background?

Nice capture of the individuals. I would have liked to have seen more of the cart and horse, possibly with a less modern background (tower structure.)

I agree with clockdoc. on the image of the field perhaps crop the sky off a little bit to follow the rule of thirds. also the powerline or whatever it is running through the middle of the frame is kind of distracting. so if you are any good at photoshop, which i'm not or i'd help you, look at getting rid of that. i like the atmosphere of the picture however.

I did a quick & dirty retouch (hope you don't mind), but I like them so much better with the distracting, modern elements removed. I used the clone brush and added some blur to the background. I spent a total of 10 minutes on both. I also agree that some cropping or reframing would work.
