Default Playing in the Snow

We got around 5" of snow today, and I was trying to get a decent shot of my daughter and the dogs playing in the snow. This is the only one I really like.

85mm, f/1.8, 1/250

Thoughts?

it's a great capture, but a little hazy... I'd bump up the contrast and play with the levels.

Aw... is that a Sammy?

(My family had a Samouyed, who just passed away a couple of years ago after a long life. We still miss him.)

Nice one! And also my 1st reaction: try to boost the contrast a bit.

rpoffenberger,

Thoughts? Just that I get the haze: it IS snowing, the air is saturated and it really is hazy as portrayed. Captions: "Girl's Best Friend" or "When's Lunch?"

(Here, it snowed 2 1/2 feet yesterday - still looking for our dog)

RainPacket - He's a Great Pyrenees, a wonderful dog, and great with the kids.

Thanks for the comments. I'll play around with it in PS.

Shooting snow is really hard to expose just right. Really easy to overexpose everything. I think this was done pretty well, just needs a little touch up in post production, maybe contrast and a pass with unsharp mask.
